There are really few anime specifically about pregnancy. Perhaps the anime protagonists are mostly teenagers, who are too young to get pregnant. But some anime do have plots about pregnancy. Let’s see the pregnant girls in anime.
1. Nagisa Furukawa (Clannad)
The TV anime CLANNAD was based on a gal game. CLANNAD AFTER STORY is the 2nd part of the anime. It is perhaps one of the most undisputed “masterpieces” of all the thousands of Japanese anime. The story is sad and moving.
Nagisa Furukawa is the female main character in the anime. As their life as a couple begins, Tomoya and Nagisa marry after their graduation, and shortly after, she is revealed to be pregnant. As Nagisa’s pregnancy develops, her health is deteriorating. In a tough situation, the young couple and their family are trying their best to support each other. Watching this anime makes me sad and happy.
2.Iyo (Big Order)
You can criticize any part of the anime: the logic of the plot, the strange emotions of the characters, inappropriate music. And, what the hell is the voice of the characters? The explicit sex in the anime and the relation between the brother and sister may make you feel really uncomfortable.
However, there is a pregnant part of the anime. The bunny girl, if you touch her bunny ear, she will get pregnant. When the protagonist grabbed her bunny ear, she really got pregnant in a second.
The plot is that a high school boy has to have a child with 12 astrological witches to save the otherworld. The protagonist needs to make 12 witches pregnant, and he does accomplish the task, in super fast speed. Looking from the surface, I thought it was an anime with a lot of erotic situations. But, in reality, the plot is really just about chatting to have a baby magically. And the overall plot is extremely awkward and confusing, but funny.
The name of this anime has fooled many viewers. Overall, it’s a comedy with little depth, so don’t expect anything from this anime because of its name.
4.Nana Komatsu (nana)
In episode 33, Nana goes to the hospital and confirms she’s six and a half weeks pregnant.
The anime NANA is based on the Japanese manga by Ai Yazawa, broadcast in 2006. It’s old anime, but classic. This sure is an epic anime, with some adult-oriented themes and deep emotions. The story is about two girls with the same name, but very different personalities and experiences, who meet accidentally and become acquainted, and their love and fates intertwine.
If you are a teenage girl, you may like it. If you are an older adult, you may have a complicated feeling about the story.
5.I Can’t Understand What My Husband is Saying
This is probably one of the most unusual anime I’ve seen.
The title is so long, but the anime is extremely short. Each episode is only 3 min. What is surprising, the story is about a married couple, which is a very old age for anime. The story is about the couple and their friends’ everyday life, mixed with all sorts of funny moments.
In an episode, the wife tested and found out she wasn’t pregnant, which was a mistake.
This anime is suitable for the female who is about to get pregnant, or are already pregnant, as it is very relaxing and joyful.
6.Eureka (Eureka Seven: AO)
Eureka is the main female lead in Eureka Seven and a major character in Eureka Seven: AO.
Eureka Seven is a classic mechanic anime. Eureka Seven AO is not as good as the former series, but I think that’s not bad.
We don’t know when did Eureka get pregnant, but in episode 16, there is a scene in which Eureka gave birth to AO.
7.Kushina Uzumaki (Naruto: Shippūden)
Kushina Uzumaki is Minato’s wife, Naruto’s mother. She was the second jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails.
In episode 467 of Naruto: Shippūden, Kushina found herself pregnant. Later, the couple decided the coming child should be named Naruto. During pregnancy, Kushina also hoped that Naruto and her friend Mikoto Uchiha’s youngest son Sasuke would become friends in the future.
8.Kotoko Aihara (ItaKiss)
ItaKiss is based on the manga of Japanese manga artist Kaoru Tada. The manga was hugely popular, and was hailed as the bible of romance, and was later adapted into several versions of the TV series. The Anime version is better than the TV series, in my point of view.
At the end of the Anime, Kotoko Aihara married Naoki Irie. Later, Kotoko got pregnant and gave birth to a girl.
A pure love story is always loved by girls, and this drama gave me a feeling of happiness more than anything else.
9.Ibuki Kajii (Coppelion)
In the year 2036, three high school girls are sent to the “dead capital” of Tokyo, which is in total lockdown due to radiation contamination from the nuclear power plant explosion. The girls are genetically modified humanoids. They have to fight mutants, resolve riots, encounter various crises, and struggle to survive in the midst of various dangers.
Ibuki Kajii is one of the 3 girls, and she is pregnant, so life is harder for her.
10.Osono (Kiki’s Delivery Service)
Osono works alongside her husband at their own local bakery, and she is pregnant. She is kind and gracious, and when she learned that Kiki had no place to stay, she let her stay and help run the bakery. Later, her child was born.
Kiki’s Delivery Service is a very old anime directed by Hayao Miyazaki, but it’s not outdated. Hayao Miyazaki’s movies are suitable for all age groups, including office workers, students, the elderly, children, and so on. No matter how stressed you are, watching Miyazaki’s anime will bring you some relief. Yes, this anime is good for pregnant women.
